Real Presence, Real Life

Eucharistic Revival in the

Diocese of Sacramento
and across the U.S.

The Bishops of the United States are calling for a three-year grassroots revival of devotion and belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. They believe that God wants to see a movement of Catholics across the United States, healed, converted, formed, and unified by an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist—and sent out in mission “for the life of the world.”

These three years will culminate in the first National Eucharistic Congress in the United States in almost fifty years. Almost a hundred thousand Catholics will join together in Indianapolis for a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage toward the “source and summit” of our Catholic faith.

We wish to sincerely thank the California Highway Patrol, our Sacramento Police Department, and especially the Knights of Columbus of our Spanish Community that provided security and traffic control services during the Corpus Christi Procession to Capitol Park.  Even the trains stopped running for us!  See video on YouTube at https://youtu.be/BaysRCvugqY.

Message of Bishop Jaime Soto on Bringing Hope in a Post-Roe California

Our response to this historic moment must be personal and faithful. At different moments the disciples of Jesus were not always sure of where their journey would lead them. As Jesus approached his own sorrowful passion and death, the disciples were seized with fear and dread. To all the questions and worries, the Lord responded, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (Jn. 14.6) The response of Jesus was personal and faithful. He offered himself to the disciples as a faithful shepherd and companion who would not abandon his friends. He sacrificed himself for them.
